The Law Office of Farmer & Klopfer, LLC is seeking a criminal defense legal assistant to join its growing team. The firm’s criminal defense practice focuses on helping individuals navigate through the criminal justice system, preparing their legal defense, and ensuring their rights are protected throughout the process.
The employee will be responsible for providing administrative and legal support to the firm’s criminal defense attorneys.
These duties include maintaining direct client communication; preparing for trial; maintaining case files; and drafting complaints, motions, or briefs in criminal proceedings, among other tasks.
The successful candidate, among other things, will:
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills
- Have a positive and collaborative approach to working with clients, colleagues, and Courthouse staff from diverse backgrounds and disciplines
- Have a demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
- Have an appreciation for teamwork
- Be able to maintain client confidentiality; and
- Have strong organizational skills and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
